[Mega Millions 2000; Celebration 99, 98 & 97]

Mr. René Blouin, a resident of St-Vallier, near Quebec City, became the country's newest millionaire at the Célébration 2001 lottery's grand draw televised this evening on the TVA network.
The lucky moment came for Mr. Blouin after the completion of the preliminary draws in which a total of 23 contestants were vying. Of these, 18 originated from Québec, 4 from British Columbia, and 1 from New Brunswick. To qualify for the televised draws, each contestant had previously uncovered three "$1,000+TV" symbols on the instant portion of their tickets.
For their parts, Ms. Sylvie Murphy from St-Hubert, and Ms. Denise Cornelier from St-Léonard, also walked away from the evening $100,000 richer. Ms Cornelier was represented by her nephew, Mr. Jules Blanchard of St-Liboire.

Available for $20, each Célébration 2001 pouch consists of three parts. The passive portion features a seven-digit number offering a chance to win one of the 80,055 prizes, including four prizes of $1 million and five of $100,000 to be awarded during the grand draw scheduled for January 14, 2001.

The instant portion features five scratch games with no less than 576,392 prizes worth a total of $12.4 million to be won. What’s more, the instant games offer a 1 in 3.5 chance to win!

Finally, five Cadillac Escalade 4 x 4 vehicles will be up for grabs each Friday in December. The 25 Cadillacs will be drawn for the winning numbers specially designated on the ticket, and the five numbers on this portion will remain valid for each of the five Friday draws.

$1 Million on Live TV — Sunday, January 14th

A live TV draw will be held in Montréal on Sunday, January 14, 2001, and broadcast on the TVA network at 7:30 P.M. To be eligible to take part in this draw for prizes of $10,000 to $1 million, you must uncover three "Tirage $1,000 + TV" symbols on instant game #5. If you do, remember that you must claim your prize by no later than closing time on Friday, January 12, 2001.
